Brilliance, protection, growth: A tiki ta moko with sun ,in polynesian culture, stands for protection and serve as a guardian. Koru motiffs (spirals) inside the face depict new beginnings, growth and are taken from the symbolic unfurled fern leaf. The outer part of the sun is made of turtle shells with sun representing brilliance and turtle shells, again, protection.
